What distance does to a price
Distance shows up twice on a dirt job. Once for the machines, which have to be trailered out and back, and once for the material, which comes from whichever pit is closest to your address. A machine that needs a lowboy costs more to move than one that rides on a tag trailer, so the size of the iron matters as much as the miles.
What that means in practice: a multi-day job forty minutes out is priced about like a multi-day job in town, because the haul gets spread across the whole week. Two hours of work that far out is a different conversation, and we will say so rather than pad the number.
Either way the trucking is a line you can see. Nobody should find out about mobilization after the machine is already sitting in the yard.
